America has been rocked by an earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale.
It struck the Alaska Peninsula on Monday, the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) stated.
The earthquake struck 114km east of town of Chignik and was a depth of 75km in line with the EMSC.
No tsunami warning was issued after it struck.
Meteorologist Matthew Cappucci reported that the quake gave the impression to be an aftershock of an 8.2 earthquake that occurred on July 29.
He stated that aftershocks can final for months in addition to being robust.
No tsunami risk was issued because of the primarily horizontal slip movement, he added.
