A male police officer used his place of authority to “emotionally manipulate” a susceptible feminine home abuse sufferer, asking her out for cocktails as he tried to start a romantic relationship together with her, a misconduct panel has heard.
The police constable, a home abuse officer, is accused of “coercing and controlling” the younger girl and “sexualising” their relationship when he was engaged on allegations that she had been abused by her associate.
He bombarded the girl with inappropriate messages, hugged and kissed her on the cheek, and invited her to his dwelling, it’s alleged. The girl, named solely as Feminine A, stated his behaviour made her “paranoid about male law enforcement officials” and scared to name 999.
The id of the middle-aged officer – who could possibly be sacked for the alleged offences – can’t be revealed as he has been granted anonymity at a misconduct listening to.
