ZANESVILLE, OH – The Zanesville Appalachian Arts Challenge is proud to share their October Featured Artist of the Month.
Kallia Manika is grateful for the popularity and is trying ahead to sharing her gallery with the neighborhood. She shared how she received into artwork and what it means to her.
“I believe we’re all artwork in a manner. So I’ve been doing artwork all my life. However I believe I’ve gone into portray and drawing over the previous 4 or 5 years. And I’ve principally used acrylics and I’ve ventured to different mediums however acrylics has been an excellent medium for me to work with. I like symbolism, and I like portraying my emotion into my artwork.”
Manika describes herself as a symbolic and emotional artist. She pulls her inspiration from feelings she feels or that she takes from different folks. Her featured artwork gallery has particular emotion behind it.
“We stay in a time of a pandemic. So what I did when the whole lot got here crashing down in a manner, I took each emotion that I had inside me, and this complete present was a results of this pandemic. The emotion that it gave me, the emotion that it gave my household, my pals, the world. And that’s why I’ve particular items which have a line on their faces as a result of I wished to color unsung heroes.”
The ZAAP Artwork Gallery can be open throughout the First Friday Artwork Stroll tomorrow night from 5 to eight PM.
